Kohima deputy commissioner Thejawelie Gregory Sote has been inducted as the president of Kohima District Bharat Scouts & Guides.


Khriesanyii Pienyii, District Organizing Commissioner (S) administered the induction to Kohima DC including Mary Zhimomi, District Education Officer as the District Chief Commissioner at the induction service held here today at DC Conference Hall.


Later, Sote handed over Tritiya Sopan award (Highest award in the district level) to 23 scouts and 28 guides.


He congratulated the awardees and asked them to do well to excel at the higher level in the coming days.


Expressing happiness over joining the family of scouts and guides, he assured to assist and push the Scouts & Guides movement forward.


“It is my wish and prayer that this family of Scouts and Guides continue to grow in numbers, not only the physical increase but also in the activities,” DC said.


We should make a sincere effort to ensure that we go higher to achieve greater heights, he added.


He told the students that by joining the family of scouts and guides they are doing service to God, countrymen and to themselves.


He said that Scouts and Guides is a big and very important platform where one can exhibit their talents, ideas and contribute to the society.


He also urged upon them to be sincere in their approach and stay focus in what they are doing.


The deputy commissioner also stressed on the need to increase the volume of membership to enhance the activities of scouts and guides.


Earlier, Khriesanyii Pienyii said that Scouts and Guides is a world-wide movement and spreads over 165 countries.


It is the educational movement for development of the young minds in term of social services, leadership, peace, he said.


Earlier, the programme was chaired by Petekhrienuo Tetso, District Training Commissioner (G) while Appollos, District Training Commissioner (S) delivered welcome address.


Dziesevizo Rutsa presented special number while vote of thanks was proposed by Kiyakhrienuo Solo, District Organizing Commissioner (G).
