Kohima District Planning and Development Board meeting held

Kohima, January 30 (MExN): Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held at DPDB’s Conference Hall, Kohima on January 29. The meeting was chaired by the new Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie, NCS.


At the outset, on behalf of all the DPDB members, ADC Kohima, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa welcomed the new DC Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie, NCS and the new District Planning Officer and Member Secretary DPDB Kohima, Pudusul Luho to the Board.


It was stated in a DIPR report that the new DC extended his greetings to the Board members and said that the DPDB forum is an important platform where the developmental activities for the district have been initiated. He therefore urged all the members to extend their support and cooperation to execute the activities effectively for the welfare of the society. He requested the members to ensure their commitments towards the functioning of the DPDB activities in effective manners.


The DPO also expressed his optimism that with the support and cooperation of the members, the yearlong DPDB activities would be a success.


Reviewing the last meeting minutes on the agenda of new registration of societies, EE PWD (South), Er Vizotuo Seletsu raised concerns like availability of parking facilities for new registration of schools in order to avoid traffic congestion and painting works carried out within the town areas. The DC also noted that the criteria laid down by the Government for new registration of society has to be strictly followed and also suggested the concerned departments to come up with some guidelines as raised by the EE PWD for uniform sideways painting within the town areas.


On the agenda for introduction of Science Stream proposed at Government Higher Secondary School, Tseminyu and TM Government Higher Secondary School, Kohima, the House deliberated on the matter and decided to recommend it to the Government for further approval.


The DC also informed the House that Mini Hornbill will be held at Kohima in the month of February and being the capital of the State, he sought all the DPDB members to extend their support and cooperation wherever it may require so as to celebrate the festival in a befitting manner.


EE PWD will be presenting his departmental activities in the next DPDB meeting.
