Kohima DPDB conducts monthly meeting

Kohima, August 18 (MExN): The Kohima District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting for the month of August was held at DC's conference hall, Kohima on August 18. The meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Advisor, Youth Resources & Sports and Chairman, DPDB Kohima, Er Zale Neikha. MLA Keneizhakho Nakhro was also present in the meeting.  

A news report from DPRO Kohima stated that the Chairman DPDB appreciated the good number of attendance in the meeting and further expressed optimism of positive attendance in the next meeting to have more healthy discussion for the betterment and development of the district.  

The Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman DPDB Kohima, Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS, chairing the meeting reviewed the last meeting minutes. On the agenda of Local Area Development Programme Scheme 2018-2019 for all the constituencies under Kohima district, the house deliberated on the agenda and decided to approve it for onward submission to the government.  

The convener and representatives of various adoption committees highlighted the progress report with regard to their respective adopted villages and wards.In this, the DC requested all the committees to expedite their course of action immediately.  

On the recent unprecedented heavy rain, the chairperson said that Kohima district had been badly affected. Houses and families have been affected and displaced, the lifeline road between Dimapur and Kohima has been cut off, and new landslide has occurred near KMC dumping site, it was informed. However, the DC appreciated the tireless efforts put in by the line departments for restoration works and encouraged all to continue their works. They were further asked to be alert for any untoward incident that may arise.  

Informing that the Incident Response System (IRS) has been activated since August 1, 2018, the DC requested all the DDMA members and line departments to be ready as and when required and to execute their roles and responsibilities as per the IRS structure.  

Presenting the departmental activities report, Joint Director and PD-ATMA, District Agriculture Office, Kohima, Vizonyu Liezie highlighted on the ongoing programmes under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY), Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojna (PKVY), major schemes under Agri department, National E-Governance Plan (NeGP-A), Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojna (PMKSY) and National Adaptation Fund for Climate Change (NAFCC).`
