Kohima DPDB moots pre-monsoon preparedness

Kohima, March 15 (DIPR): The Kohima District Planning & Development Board meeting for the month of March was held at DPDB’s conference Hall, Kohima on March 15. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman DPDB, Rajesh Soundararajan IAS.  

On the agenda of pre-monsoon preparedness of all concerned departments, the DC said that during the monsoon season, the Dimapur, Kohima and Imphal highway initially got cut off in the past experiences where lots of hindrances occurred. Keeping this in mind, he urged the concerned department to take up necessary maintenance works in the alternate routes which are in bad shape in order to avoid the past experiences before the onset of monsoon.  

He also requested the SDRF team to be ready and vigilant in the event of any disaster. He also reminded the departments who are yet to submit current status of respective offices on office area and assets availability to do so at the earliest as it has to be updated yearly in order to keep track on the record.  

The DC informed the house on the following constituted various committees under DPDB for the year 2018-19: Core committee, village/ward committee and verification committee for LADP.  

CMO (H&FW), Dr. Ritu Thur also informed the house that anti-malaria week is to be observed in the 2nd week of May and requested the members to extend their help and support. The PWD (NH) and (R&B) have been entrusted to present its departmental activities in the next DPDB meeting.
