Kohima, April 29 (MExN): Based on specific information from the volunteers of ‘T’ Khel Youth Organization, Kohima regarding prostitution activities at BOC area, the Women Cell personnel and the youths have jointly apprehended one woman identified as Sagholi (24), a press release from PRO, Kohima Police said. She has been charged for “inducing/ luring customers at her own will and carrying out prostitution in the vicinity of public place located at ‘T’ Khel market area and its adjoining areas for personal gain.” The woman divulged names of her regular customers leading to arrests of 11 more persons from various locations of Kohima Town on different dates and time. They have been charged under section 7(b) of Prevention of Immoral Traffic Act 1956. The arrested persons have been identified as Sahamur Ahmed Jahir (21), Dhiray Kumar (21), Md. Mofidul Islam (24), Jashim Uddin (23), Naresh Thakur (32), Ashikul Islam (32), Sidu @ Gajendar Yadav (31), Islam (20), Noor Islam (21), Hussain Ahmed (27), Sanju Deb (27). A regular case vide Kohima South P.S Case No. 0027/2016 U/S 5(1)(a)(d)/7(b) P.I.T Act have been registered against them and they are remanded into judicial custody, the release added.
