The Kohima Onpangkong Kaketshir Telongjem (KOKT) conducted is sports meet from October 7 to 8 last at Kohima Science College Ground Jotsoma under the theme “Strengthening bonds.”


Addressing the inaugural function as the special guest, Alemtemshi Jamir, CEO, IDAN said that young people are becoming more conscious of their health today.


“There is a mushrooming of gyms and the number of people jogging, walking and running to keep healthy is increasing,” he said.


Jamir said that our life is moving towards more and more “sedentary” life with the arrival of computers, televisions, mobile phones and interactive games. Stressing on the need to have more healthy activities, he said that it can be possible through reason together and know the art of living together, work and play together.


Earlier, KOKT president Imlinokcha Longkumer delivered welcome address.


KOKT treasurer Bendangtoshi Longkumer also exhorted the gathering.


KOKT sports secretary Limasanen Longkumer administered oath to the participating teams.


Football, Volleyball and basketball marked the two day long sports meet.
