Aizawl, February 26 (NNN): Mizos living in Kolkata celebrated Chapchar Kut today graced by Parliamentary Secretary for School Education Joseph Lalhimpuia as Kut Pa or Father of the Festival. Speaking on the occasion, Joseph Lalhimpuia lauded the Mizos in Kolkata for organizing an important festival of the Mizos like Chapchar Kut. It is from Kolkata, one of the big cites in India, that the early educated Mizos had received their education, Joseph said, adding it is one important centre of education and business. “The Mizos living in this place therefore have high responsibility,” the Parliamentary Secretary said, asking the gathered youths to have missionary mindset. “There are some who help others in need but expect something in return, which is not typical of the Mizos,” he added. The Chapchar Kut celebration in the day was organized by Kolkata Mizo Welfare at Ballygunge Mizoram House.
