KSCDL hand over ambulances to NHAK for COVID-19 operations

The Kohima Smart City Development Limited (KSCDL) today handed over two smart ambulances to Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) for emergency COVID-19 operations.

 

Handing over the ambulances to NHAK managing director Dr. Thorusie Katiry here today at KMC office premises, Nagaland’s urban development and municipal affairs department advisor Dr. Neikiesalie (Nicky) Kire called for the best use of the facility to address the emergency.

 

KSCDL CEO Kovi Meyase informed that in the interest of the public, the KSCDL embarked City’s New Paramedic Vehicles (Smart Ambulances) to be operational for the citizens.

 

In this direction, the KSCDL, under citizens’ health provision of smart city scheme have procured two Smart Ambulances for the citizens of the state capital Kohima.

 

 “We are in the process of getting formal registration. However, in view the gravity of the prevailing circumstances, Dr. Nicky took decision to hand over to NHAK for utilization during this period of emergency,” said Meyase.

 

The measure is to fight against COVID-19 pandemic which is spreading across the globe, Kovi said adding that NHAK will operate and utilize those ambulances under the discretion of MD, NHAK till such time situation normalize.

 

“We will make the best use of it for the patients,” assured Dr. Katiry.

 

The ambulances will be GPS monitored by KSCDL, information of which can be obtained for Kohima Smart City.

 

The ambulances are equipped with oxygen cylinders b type/bulk type, ventilator, ECG, suction, foot suction, monitor, laryngoscope, 5 KVA online UPS, portable stretchers, surgical disposal, syringe pump, defibrillator and AC built in.
