KSU dismayed by deplorable road condition in Khiamniungan area

DIMAPUR, JUNE 13 (MExN): The Khiamniungan Students’ Union (KSU) has expressed consternation over the appalling road conditions in Khiamniungan area and the irregularities and negligence in the government establishments.

A press release issued by KSU president, P Hatho and general secretary, Puthai T said the road condition of entire Khiamnungan area was in a deplorable condition despite funds being allotted for its maintenance.

While questioning the contractors and the concerned department for the negligence, the KSU has appealed the concerned authorities to ensure that the road projects are completed within the stipulated time and quality meets the required standard.

The KSU also said many government schools were running with acute shortage of teachers while the infrastructures were in a dilapidated condition.

The students’ union also expressed displeasure with the irregularities of employees in the health sector. It revealed that many established Primary Health Centres and Sub-Centres were either non-functional or left unattended.

Pointing out a case in point, the KSU said the Medical Officer of PHC Panso was transferred out without any replacement. It alleged that due to the non-availability of MO in PHC Panso, precious lives have been lost during the last few months. It has therefore demanded that an MO be immediately posted in PHC Panso in order to “avoid untoward consequences in future.”

The KSU also pointed out that there are many loopholes and anomalies in various government establishments and the irregularities of the employees were at its brazen heights.

Stating that the negligence of the employees to perform their duties is causing inconveniences to the general public, the KSU has warned all HoDs and employees serving under Khiamniungan jurisdiction to discharge their duties diligently and to be stationed at their designated posting place.

The KSU has warned that it shall initiate own course of action to the defaulters.
