KSU takes on KYC 'B' in Frolic Cup final

Medziphema, April 28 (MExN): Khanakhurü Students' Union (KSU) will take on Kuki Youth Club (KYC) 'B' in the final of the Frolic Cup tomorrow after registering convincing wins in their respective semifinal matches on Friday. A hat-trick and an assist from Rhitso helped KSU oust defending champions Tsiepama Youth Organisation 4-0. TYO had more possession but KSU relied on their counter attacking play as Salu headed in the first goal from Rhitso’s cross in the 38th minute of play.   Rhitso then scored two minutes before the half time and trebled the lead minutes after the restart. He went on to score his hat-trick in the 76th minute. Anoto of KSU was awarded a yellow for pulling down the striker of TYO. The other match between Kuki Youth Club 'B' and Molvom Youth and Students' Union was arguably one of the most enthralling matches so far with quick short passes and nimble dribbling skills being showcased by both teams. MYSU took the lead early on with Haotinlen scoring in the 6th minute.   However, the experienced KYC 'B' displayed poise and struck back and equalized in the 21st minute through Ilungrei. KYCB players gradually accelerated the pace and snatched away the game managing to score 6 goals at the end of the 90 minutes. Nyithung grabbed a hat-trick scoring in the 38th, 60th and 82nd minutes while Victor (85th) and Nampi (88th) scored a goal each late in the game.   Thangben, Thangte and Bamdi of KYCB and MYSU’s Thangminlen were penalised with yellow cards for unsporting play.   The final match is scheduled for Saturday, April 29, 2:00 pm. Dimapur Deputy Commissioner Kesonyü Yhome will be the Guest of Honour at the closing function.
