KU Aboi unit flays delay in construction

Dimapur, November 18 (MExN): The Konyak Union Aboi unit today said that 11th IRB Camp Aboi was in a “pathetic condition” as the construction of the camp had stopped nearly a decade ago.

In a press note issued by its President N. Wanglem Konyak, the unit expressed its disappointment with the concerned minister and department for not “taking up the project in the lateral manner” and delaying it for over a decade.

Noting that such projects started in the same year were completed in other districts, it maintained that the delay in construction is a “humiliation and discrimination to the people of Aboi in particular and Mon district in general.”

It is learnt that only 30% was completed and the public demand equal share, equal treatment and equal importance with the rest of the Nagas, the unit added.

Despite several appeal, reminder, and meeting with the concerned department, why is the project being delayed in the district while it has been already completed in other districts? the KU Unit further posed.

The unit also informed all the HOD/In-charge of the department to refrain from issuing any clearance certificates of any work/project undertaken in their jurisdiction without its inspection and proper knowledge.

“If any department certifies or issue any clearance certificate for any kind of work/project and if discrepancies are found in that particular work then the concerned department will be held responsible,” it added.

Further stating that the Aboi public had been facing lot of connectivity problems for nearly a year, the unit notified Airtel and BSNL to maintain proper network coverage in its area.

“Inspect, verify and fix the network problem at the earliest so that the users would enjoy the network coverage strength in our area,” it said.
