Dimapur, February 23 (MExN): The Konyak Union (KU), Mon today made an appeal and requested the department concerned to undertake the Medical College project at the earliest.
The KU, General Secretary, Wango Konyak and Press Secretary, Pangmei in a press release acknowledged the Government of Nagaland headed by the Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Minister Health & Family Welfare, Pangnyu Phom and the department concerned for initiating and taking serious note in highlighting the plight and sufferings of the people of Mon district to Government of India to bring up Medical College at Mon.
It stated that the Union will monitor and supervise the project with full co-operation with the department concerned and ensure smooth functioning so that no hindrances and misunderstandings arise during the construction process.
Meanwhile, the Union also acknowledged the landowners and Chi Village Council and its citizens for donating the land for setting up the Medical College.
Further, the Union has appealed to the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland to expedite the inauguration of the District Hospital, Mon at the earliest and also to inaugurates the foundation stone for the proposed Medical College during the occasion.
