Phek, August 19 (MExN): Krishi Vigyan Kenda, Phek launched the ‘Sankalp Se Siddhi’ campaign on August 19. During the next 10 days, the Kendra will showcase agricultural technologies for doubling income of the farmers of the country by 2022.
The inaugural session was graced by L. Hangshing, Joint Director, Department of Agriculture. Hangshing strongly emphasized on collaboration of farmers, extension/research institute and policy makers for holistic development in the field of agriculture and allied sector.
Dr Hannah K. Asangla, Subject Matter Specialist (Agronomy) briefed the objective and goal of the programme and the housed pledged to thrive for a New India.
A presentation on farmer friendly agricultural technologies suitable for the region in the a field of horticulture, soil and water conservation, agronomic practices, plant protection measures and livestock farming was delivered by Dr Rinku Bharali, ACTO on the occasion.
Imsunaro, District Development Managers, NABARD apprised the farmers on various Credit plans and their benefits. She acquainted that, with the growing burden of Non Performing Assets (NPA), it is high time to change the mindset on agricultural subsidies and financial credits. World Honey Bee day was also commemorated on the occasion with a presentation and film show. Altogether 55 farmers from various villages of the district participated in the occasion.
