KVK Tuensang district celebrates World Soil Day

Tuensang, December 7 (DIPR): Krishi Vigyan Kendra celebrated the World Soil Day under the theme ‘Healthy Soil for Healthy Life’ at CKS Hall, Tuensang. Deputy Commissioner, Tuensang, L. Jamithung Lotha graced the programme as the chief guest. The programme was attended by officials from Agri and Allied sector and farmers of the district.  

L. Jamithung Lotha highlighted the importance of the soil and its benefits for the farmers. Comparing soil health with that of human health, he encouraged the farmers to take proper counselling from experts to understand the nature of the soil for the proper cultivation and more harvest. Soil health cards were also distributed to the villagers.  

JSCO, Beso Chang presenting the remark of the programme apprised of the problems of soil erosion and its remedies. He reminded the gathering of the importance of soil health cards and emphasized the importance of the natural way of cultivation by means of organic matters.  

SMS, Horticulture, Dr. Shisarenla Aier who also chaired the programme delivered the welcome address. Principal, Sao Chang College, Chubasangla also gave a speech.
