Stating that just for a single individual, whether having good or bad character of his/her past life, the question of claiming Angami traditional land does not arise at all by the so-called colonies who came to our forefathers land just
yesterday.
"...question of claiming Angami traditional land does not arise at all by the so-called colonies who came to our forefathers land just yesterday"“We, the undersigned leaders of Chakhro Angami Kuda Youth Organization (CAKYO) have been compelled to reply to DC Dimapur as we lodged a complaint and not as sated by him on June 13. Moreover due to continuous agitation by the so-called six colonies within Industrial village polling station 11 and 12 for EPIC and the warning to T.L Angami, the youth came from Zadima village in order to protect the life of their leaders in his residence on the night of 12th June and fined in his compound. They never went outside or chased the mob who gathered outside the gate of T.L Angami till DC Moang Wati Aier came and sent them back to Zadima village,” stated a rejoinder issued by Roko Pienyu, president, Luola-o Usou, general secretary of CAKYO Dimapur.
Supporting its claim, the organization stated the traditional land of Angami occupied by the so-called six colonies prior to 1929 and also before the birth of Limatemsu Aier is totally baseless and unfounded issue. “The tribal land of Angamis existed since time immemorial which cannot be disputed by the six colonies or any other tribes”.
In regard to Dkio, it clarified that the boundary of Dikoi village which was settled by the present DC from his office on October 13, 2008 stated in the presence of both the parties that the land between Army fencing and Aoyimkum village was handed over to Dikoi village for peaceful co-existence between the two villages for which the leaders of Dikoi village council invoked the blessings of God to DC and the administrators.
“… in fact he distorted the original boundary of Prarü nallah indicated between Aoyimkum and Dikoi village by the then ADC Dimapur, HK Khulu IAS and also 77 acres of Dikoi village land was given to the armies stationed at Rangapahar without any colour of authority. At present, there is only around one acre of land left for Dikoi village and due to his judgment given on 13th October 2008, hundreds of Dikoi villagers could not be accommodated within the said acre of land where Dikoi villagers have constructed only seven houses in this area,” the note stated.
It also added that one may go to Dikoi village and verify the village area like CAKYO that how DC Dimapur, Aoang Wati had given good judgment to Dikoi villagers for peaceful living when the said settlement took place. “Above all, CAKYO acknowledge Chümoukedima village council for bringing out the real facts about the traditional land ownership in Dimapur area under Angami Tribal land.”
