Law vital for building society and bringing change: KLC freshers told

Kohima, September 12 (MExN): The Kohima Law College 39th Freshers’ Meet was held at Red Cross Conference Hall Kohima on September 10 with Nino Eralu, District & Session Judge, Wokha as Special Invitee.

 

A press release issued by Kohima Law College Students’ Union stated that Nino Eralu in her speech said that the students fresher have chosen the right decision to study ‘law’ as law plays a very important role to build the society and to bring ‘change’ one should not wait the government but change should come from each individual. “Let’s first change ourselves then automatically society would change. Today we demand change but not bothered to change ourselves as individual,” she said.

 

She also stated that to become a successful lawyer one has to work hard with honesty, perseverance and integrity. “As law students one has to read a lot not only the law books but also others as one has to be jack of all track,” she added.

 

While highlighting the role of women in modern world, Eralu shared her life experiences starting from her very young age as woman and she also asked the young women to be decent in life-styles and dressing and also being polite and always show their respect to elders. Eralu also highlighted the initiative of State Governor and Chief Minister towards the relief funds for the affected families in Nagaland and with her initiative, a free will offering was collected from all the students and professors to be given to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

 

Earlier, the Kohima Law College Evangelical Union presented a special number followed with speeches from the Principal of Kohima Law College and President of Kohima Law College Students’ Union.

 

The lunch was followed with the ‘Second Session’ which included various presentations of songs, dance, talent show and selection of Mr & Miss Freshers. The final round includes 3 male and 3 female and finally Noel Kulnu and Thejasenuo Vitsu were adjudged as Mr & Miss Freshers respectively.
