LBES 19th Youth Rally on ‘Audacious Faith’ concludes

Dimapur, January 15 (MExN): The three day 19th Youth rally of the Lotha Baptist Ekhumkho Sanrhyutsü (LBES) held) under the theme “Nkenphio Longtsü” (Audacious Faith Hebrews11:1) at N. Longidang Baptist Church concluded on January 14.

Mhonchumo Erui, Associate Pastor Lotha Baptist Church Kohima, the speaker on Sunday afternoon delivered his sermon on “Faith, the bedrock of our decision making” based on Daniel 3:16, 1 Kings18:21 and Matthew 26:39.

“For a believer who profess to be having faith in God has to trust Him in totality without reservations and doubts and let his faith be the bedrock on which he builds his life upon just as Abraham did without questions, when God led him to the great unknown,” he said.

“Following blindly the lure of worldly materialism by responding only to your own voice is a dangerous path because, if Jesus does not walk with you and if he is not with you in the boat at sea, then your safety is not assured,” he said. “When you surrender your will to God and make your decisions in Faith, all your sense of fear and guilt, weakness, imperfections, pride and arrogance will be replaced by yourself renewal through Christ,” he also added.

In the earlier service, Jim Roberts, Pastor, Grace Baptist Church Delhi, said in his exhortation that, if the youth of today do not live the word of God practically, they devalue and make the Bible just like another common book.

Therefore, he called on them to go out of their inactive state and live up to their spiritual responsibilities and purpose of the gospel in reality.

Yanpvulo Ovung, Women Leader Diphupar in her sermon, challenged the youth to prove to others with their life that there is strength, truth, steadfastness and victory in their unshakable and audacious faith through Christ that they can overcome the evil vices of the present times.

Nyanchumo Lotha Executive Secretary LBES who conducted the consecration service of the rally in the evening spoke on “Live in integrity with faith.”

He said, “Be on your watch. You are too precious to be tainted by the ugliness of corruption and be enslaved by its powerful tentacles.”   He also cautioned them to be responsible young people, accountable and credible in all aspects of moral, character and physical conduct.

Be cultured and help others to follow your guidance, so that the foundation you build today will strengthen in a healthy society and the future will not judge you, he also told them.

Among the various events, the best discipline award of the rally was bagged by Chumukedima in the first place followed by Longla and LBES Longjüng Baptist Ekhumkho in the second place.

In the skit competition category, Lotha Church Dimapur bagged the first place followed by Diphupar and Diphupar B in the second place.   During the rally, a new team of office bearers were elected with Benlanthung Yanthan, Youth Director, Lotha Baptist Church Dimapur as the Chairman.

During the closing service it was informed that the next Youth rally will be hosted by Kukidolong Circle Lotha Baptist Churches in the year 2021, under the leadership of the newly elected team of office bearers. The rally which had more than 2000 youth in attendance on the final day had many elderly people too. In a remarkable turn of the rally, it almost became like a kind of revival for the youth through their praise and worship time. Many were also seen committing their life to Christ. The rally came to a close late into the night with a bonfire, coffee and entertainment camp.
