Lerie Panchayat reiterates on resolutions

Kohima, August 22 (MExN): The Lerie Panchayat, Kohima has reiterated on its earlier resolution that partying by revellers, loud music, consumption of intoxicating drinks and use of illegal drugs or substances, involving in immoral activity etc by any individuals and groups within the jurisdiction of Lerie colony is strictly prohibited by the Lerie Panchayat.


Lerie Panchayat, Chairman, Dr. Ilang and Secretary I. Tongpanglong in a press release stated that any individual or groups caught red handed violating the existing ban will be penalised with a fine of Rs. 5,000 and their name(s) along with the details of their default shall be published in all the local papers. 


However, even in the recent past till date, the Lerie Panchayat stated it has been observed that despite of the existing ban being published in all the leading local papers from time to time in the past and the ‘notice’ regarding the same being vividly displayed in ‘Signboard’ in all the prominent junctions and spots within the colony, a good number of individuals and groups from other colonies of Kohima town are still found violating the strictures demeaning the Lerie Panchayat. 


“The Lerie Panchayat views these very questionable acts of those violators as a direct challenge to its authority,” it stated. 


Therefore, the Lerie Panchayat, once again caution all those individuals and groups to put an end to all these menace and refrain from these sorts of ongoing unhealthy, objectionable and avoidable practices in the best interest of all the stakeholders concerned with immediate effect so as to avoid any unwarranted situations.
“Failure to comply with this polite caution or appeal will attract appropriate punitive action from the Lerie Panchayat,” it added.
