Lhisemia Khel Indoor Stadium inaugurated

Parliamentary Secretary For Youth Resources & Sports, Music Task Force and State Lotteries Khriehu Liezietsu today inaugurated Lhisemia Khel Indoor Stadium here at Kohima village.


This stadium was initiated and constructed by Parliamentary Secretary Khriehu Liezietsu and funded by Youth Resources & Sports Department under restoration scheme 2014-15.


Speaking on the occasion, Liezietsu was optimistic that the community will gain maximum benefit from this newly inaugurated indoor stadium. He called upon the sports lovers to utilize this facility in proper manner and consider it as their field to excel in the field of games and sports. Apart for sports activities, Liezietsu said that this stadium will also act as recreational centre as well as holding other events. He also suggested that Morning Club and Evening Club can be formed to enable any age-group to access to this facility in their spare time and make this stadium fully functional.


Further, the Parliamentary Secretary wanted to see that this stadium act as productive platform to bring the community together, develop better understanding and peaceful environment.


L. Khel Council chairman Menuovilie Kesiezie also spoke on the occasion while keynote address was delivered by Lhisemia Youth Organization (LYO) outgoing president Kethosituo Mepfhiio. The function was chaired by Vilielhou Suokhrie. Thepfuvizo Vizo and Neilavor Chielie presented general secretary’s and treasurer’s report respectively. Neingusalie Khruomo led the introduction of LYO new team, followed by charge handing & taking over of the new team for the tenure 2016-18 headed by Kechangulie Miachieo as president.


Peli No 16 L. Khel enthralled the gathering with a folk song. Neivizolie Chielie, pastor, Khedi Baptist Church pronounced dedicatory prayer while vote of thanks was proposed by Yawelie Noudi. Commissioner Secretary for youth resources & sports Menukhol John, youth resources & sports director Asangla Imti and Music Task Force project director Gugs Chishi were also present on the occasion.
