Linking Aspirations and Possibilities: Business interface held

Kohima, April 9 (MExN): The Entrepreneurs Associates organized a business interface under the theme ‘Linking Aspirations and Possibilities’ supported by Dorabji Tata Trust, Mumbai at DRDA Hall, Senapati HQ in Manipur on April 8.   Speaking at the inaugural session, chief guest L Dikho, MLA, Government of Manipur encouraged the gathering through his own experiences as a struggling entrepreneur. He reiterated that entrepreneurs cannot give up hope in the face of adversities and encouraged the youth to start creating opportunities in Senapati, according to a press release received here.

  Also speaking at the occasion was the DC of Senapati Jacintha Lazarus, who exhorted the youth to take up entrepreneurship giving special emphasis on Senapati being strategically located.  

Peter Rangnamei, Director, MANEDA Hope Centre Senapati gave a prelude to the program on his progressive association with EA and its beginnings. The CEO of EA, Neichute Doulo in his keynote speech gave optimistic view that Senapati could be the leading hub as the gateway of Manipur and Nagaland through entrepreneurship.  

In the Business session, Hepuni Liba, Founding Principal of Mt. Pisgah College encouraged the gathering on the importance of entrepreneurship for the youth. As the owner of Senapati’s first water bottling plant, he shared his experience while raising a pertinent question as to why locally sourced products were not given the preference by the local people, the press release said.  

Gopen Moses, EA team leader of Manipur shared on his transition from corporate life. He had worked with the highest multilateral agencies such as the UNO, Action Aid, CRS for more than 14 years, but moved on to the perilous yet fulfilling journey of entrepreneurship becoming one of the biggest and most successful drinking water distributors of Imphal Valley, it added.  

An engaging interactive session followed, where the audience along with a panel of the speakers discussed possibilities in the region, looking at challenges as opportunities, how entrepreneurs should take calculated risks among others.  

Theophilius Rangmathat gave the closing remarks, where he appreciated EA’s efforts of promoting entrepreneurship in the area and asked the gathering to take up the challenge before them.  

Susan James, Lead Trainer, EA chaired the Inaugural session, while Shiroi Shaiza, Program Manager, EA chaired the Business session. Pastor David Sha said the invocation while special songs were presented by Jasmine Ngumei and a colorful presentation by the Rongmei Cultural Troupe. Over 100 entrepreneurs, college students, student leaders and aspiring entrepreneurs attended the programme.
