Liquor and drugs worth 30 lakhs seized in two days

Dimapur, February 13 (MExN): The Nagaland Excise and Prohibition Department, during a period of two days seized liquor and drugs worth about thirty lakhs throughout the state.

 

In view of the ensuing Nagaland Assembly Election 2018 and as per the directive of Election Commission of India and the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland, the Excise and Prohibition Department have been keeping a strict vigil and round the clock duty to check the flow of liquor and drugs in the state, Visedelie Mepfuo, Additional Commissioner of Excise & State Nodal Officer EEM stated in a press release.

 

It was informed that the seizure was made during the period of February 1 and 2, 2018.

24*7 Control Room
The State Excise and Prohibition Department as designated the Nodal Department for Election Expenditure Monitoring have set up a 24*7 Control Room to monitor the activities in all the eleven (11) districts of the state in liaison with the Election Commission of India, Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland and the District Administration in order to ensure free, fair and peaceful conduct of election.
