List of State Teachers Award 2018 recipients

Kohima, September 5 (MExN): 15 teachers from 11 districts were conferred with the prestigious State Teachers Award 2018 during the state level teachers’ day celebration held at NBCC Convention Centre on September 5. The list of the recipients is as follows:

 

• Takurenla, GMS Tuli- C, Mokokchung: Besides academic classes, she actively participated in Swaach Bharat mission, eco-club, literary activities, special coaching and home visitation.

 

• Narotola Imchen, Little Flower School Kohima: Under her initiative and coordination with the District Tobacco Control Cell, Kohima, the should could made Tobacco Free Zone school. In the last 5 years, many of her students secured state highest marks in HSSLC in her subject. 38 students secured distinction in Education in HSSLC 2018.

 

• Roseline Komuha, St. Mary’s Cathedral HSS Kohima: She is actively involved in school discipline, nature club, literary committee and sanitation. She gives extra time for destitute, slow learners and sponsored study materials wherever need arises.

 

• Loreni Ngullie, GMS Wokha Town Sector A, Wokha: She initiates special counseling programmes for teenage girls in the school every year. She also encourages first hand learning experience for her students thereby take them to field trips to various places.

 

• Sheela Thapa, Sacred Heart School Mon: She helps weak students by providing free tuition and sacrificing her holidays for the students. Her good relationship with students, teachers, parents and society is a living example of a truly dedicated teacher.

 

• H. Hamloi Konyak, GHSS Mon: His enthusiasm in teaching and love for the students and the subject he teaches motivate the students to achieve good results for the school not only academics but co-curricular activities too. He plays a very important role to bring coordination between the school, parents and the community.

 

• V.P. Ghuvishe Zhimomi, GHSS Satakha, Zunheboto: He has been working extra time by giving free tuitions and remedial classes during summer and winter vacations. He takes active role in conducting daily morning assemblies, management of mid-day meal and games and sports.

 

• Debasis Mahata, GHS Yangphi, Kiphire: He is always innovative and practical. He takes active participation in games and sports, science seminars and exhibitions, debate etc.

 

• Santosh Kumar Tiwari, EI Beth School Kiphire: Under his guidance, he led the students in science exhibitions. He sacrificed his extra time for slow learners and poor students.

 

• Mahadeb Mahapatra, GHS Yachem, Longleng: When he joined the school, one of his first initiatives was to raise some fund to renovate the school infrastructure, which had been in neglect for quite some time. His sacrifice and devotion brought a positive change in the academic result in public examination.

 

• Niekhochi Venuh, GHS Phek village, Phek: He assigns holiday homework to students to engage the child during holidays besides regular homework. Then give feedbacks and conduct counseling class for improvements. He also counsel drop out students and checks universal enrolment drive.

 

• Subhash Kumar, GHS Kuthur, Tuensang: He always used child centric technique to motivate his students. He is encouraged that his students are gradually developing skills of learning by doing and progressing in discipline, punctuality etc.

 

• Mesehol Kweho, GHS Kigwema, Kohima: Besides his normal duties as PET he has been helping with the responsibility of teaching other subjects like skill with efficiency and commitment.

 

• P. Athisiva Krishnan, St Paul HSS Dimapur: Many of his students have secured distinctions in Mathematics, Science and Advanced Mathematics. In science exhibition in 2003, one of his students got selected in state level competition.

 

• Petekhrie-o Sekhose, GHSS, Peren: He had organized various activities like art and culture extravaganza, annual flower show. He is not just a teacher in the classroom by plays the role of a parent to his students who come from far villages to study.
