Dimapur, October 16 (MExN): Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Tsaru Block, Tuensang inaugurated a Litchi Farm School on October 14 at Alisopur village under Tuensang district.
A press note informed that Khatemenla, ATM Tsaru Block trained the farmers about plant protection measures in Litchi and also gave a demonstration on air layering techniques in Litchi.
Imlinukshi, ATM Tsaru Block also spoke on soil management practices in Litchi, while Dr. T. Arenmongla, BTM Tsaru Block gave a demonstration on Vermicomposting, it said.
AT Mor was appointed as Farm Teacher along with 6 other progressive farmers as farm students, the release added.
There was an interactive/questionnaires session with the Lichi farmers to clear their doubts on air layering, soil management, and plant protection measures in Litchi.
The programme was followed by Block Farmers Advisory Committee (BFAC) meeting for Tsaru Block, where various activities taken up by ATMA Tuensang were highlighted by BTM, Dr. T. Arenmongla. Functions and duties of BFACs and the problems faced by the farming communities were also deliberated during the meeting along with various topics of Agri & allied sectors to be undertaken within the block for uplifting the farming community.
Altogether, 16 farmers attended the programme.
