Litsase Sangtam emerges winner of Naga traditional fire making

Litsase Sangtam representing Sangtam tribe emerged as the undisputed winner amongst the 12 participants competing in the traditional fire making organised by Department of Youth Resources & Sports in collaboration with Tourism department as part of the 19th Hornbill Festival at Kisama on December 3.

 

DIPR report stated that Naga traditional fire making is an annual event which is being organised every year by the department of YRS in support with the Tourism department. It is an indigenous games practiced by all naga tribes, usually menfolk.

 

Altogether 12 participants representing different tribes competed for the coveted title where LitsaseSangtam and LhoupeTepfo from Chakhesang tribe clinched the first and second position and pocketed Rs. 7000/- and Rs. 5000/- respectively. Unfortunately, no one could make it to the third position within the stipulated time. SDO (Civil), Jakhama, Alemyapang gave away the prizes to the winners.
