It was a day of entertainment, colourful performances and warm sharing of wonderful thoughts as Livingstone Foundation Hr. Sec. School (LFHSS) created a warm ambience to welcome the new students during its annual Freshers’ Day on the June 23.
Hosted at the school’s Chapel Hall, the event was marked by various presentations by both the students and mentors, including a special number by Kughatovi of Grade XII, dance by Kajenkala & Co. and Joy of Hearts by Abigail Thapa.
The main attraction of the day, however, was ‘Mr. & Miss Freshers 2018’ contest where the fresh batch of Grade-XI participated and showcased their mettle in facing the crowd and answering some challenging questions posed by the judges.
After several rounds of assessment, Imsurenla Jamir of Grade XI Sc. was adjudged as the Miss Fresher 2018 while Vili P. Yepthomi of Grade-XI Arts was declared as the Mr. Fresher 2018.
The other title winners included Apolu Swu as ‘Mr Popular,’ Olem Kahdak as ‘Miss Congeniality’ and Imsujungla as ‘Miss Beautiful Skin.’ The winners were felicitated by the Chairman of LFHSS, Andrew Ahoto and Director Jr. High Ani Yepthomi.
Earlier, the progamme hosted by Vernon Fernandez, began with the invocation prayer Supongbenla, Counsellor of LFHSS, followed by the welcome address by Zakir Hussain, Coordinator.
In his keynote address, LFHSS Chairman, Andrew Ahoto underscored the importance of hard work and called upon the students to always possess a positive mindset and imbibe positive values.
Above all, be kind and good human beings and to see the best in everything, he exhorted.
The memorable day concluded with vote of thanks proposed by P. Mandal, Head of Academics, informed a press release from the school management.
