LLRSA  sports meet kicks off in Bhandari

Bhandari, December 11 (MExN): The Lotha Lower Range Sports Association (LLRSA) held the inaugural programme of its 63rdAnnual Sports meet at the Public Ground, Bhandari on December 11.

 

N Jacob Yanthan, Jt Director Agriculture, Nagaland & Vice President, Nagaland Veteran Football Association unfurled the LLRSA Flag, unveiled the logo and also kicked off the meet as special guest.

 

Football, Volleyball and Badminton will be the main games during the three-day meet.

 

According to a DIPR report, in a brief speech he stated that LLRSA has produced commendable players over the years.

 

Veterans like himself and Mhathung Kithan who had played in the Santosh Trophy representing Nagaland State in the past and the upcoming players like Nchumbemo L Mozhui in Velsao Sports & Cultural Club Goa, Lironthung L Jami in Churchill Brothers Goa and Zubenthung Kikon of NE United Gauwahati are few encouraging examples, he said.

 

Stating that in today’s time, young people have better opportunities to make sports a life-long career, he encouraged the players to make use of the opportunities to their advantage though the home platform may appear humble.

 

To deliver the best in the field of sports, besides the routine trainings and practices, you are what you make of yourself by sharpening and working on your skill, he said.Factors such as sense of confidence and competition, connection through team work, caring attitude towards opponents, self control and discipline helps to mould a pleasant personality out of a person he also observed.

 

Elithung Odyuo, Chairman Lotha Lower Range Public Organisation in his greetings said, their motto; ‘Friendship through Sports’ is very relevant as during this time people from all the villages and towns of the Lotha Lower Range areas come together.

 

“Our Sporting spirit helps us to foster feeling of friendship and co-operation amongst us and on the other hand we get to learn the taste of winning and losing which make us more determined to do better,” he added.

 

Earlier in the programme, K Wilson Ezung Asso.Pastor 7th NAP Bn did the invocation prayer.Welcome note was addressed by Rhontsuthung Lotha, Chairman LLRSA and Oath taking was conducted by Richard Humtsoe, Asst. Gen Secretary, LLRSA.
