SRU Zunheboto Town formed

Dimapur, July 26 (MExN):
The Suruhuto Range Union (SRU), Zunheboto Town has been formed on June 25, 2011 and elected office bearers for tenure of three (3) years. The Union will be headed by president Hovishe Achumi (Tichipami=Alahuto); general secretary Khuhoto N Awomi (Aichisaghi=Laghilato); and advisor board with five members including Izhekhu Achumi, Viheto Achumi, Yevuto Awomi, Ahoto Achumi and Hotoi Yeptho; and Drafting Committee with Khevukhu, Yeheshe Yeptho and Izhekhu Achumi.

ENPU Phek meeting on July 30

Dimapur, July 26 (MExN):
Eastern Nagaland People’s Union (ENPU) Phek has convened an emergency meeting on July 30, 2:30 pm at Union Treasurer, Wangtai Konyak (Mission Compound). All the ENPU Office Bearers, Eastern Naga Govt. Officer’s and Unit President are requested to attend the Meeting without fail. President O Akong Chang in a press release has informed that if any office Bearers fail to attend to said meeting individual action will be taken by the union.

Angamimiapfü Mechü shocked by rape, brutal murder

Kohima, July 26 (MExN):
The Angamimiapfü Mechü (AMK) has expressed pain and shock over the rape and brutal murder of Avino on 21st July. The Krotho while condemning such inhuman and barbaric act has demanded immediate justice and urged the authorities responsible to award befitting punishment to the culprits. The AMK further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

Losami adopted as Cooperative Bank Model Village

Dimapur, July 26 (MExN):
Nagaland State Cooperative Bank Ltd. Phek Branch conducted a banking awareness camp on July 21, 2011 at Losami village in Phek district. The meet was attended by officers from NSCB head office Dimapur, Losami Village Council, VDB members, officers and village elders.
A press note issued by Imtilemba Longkumer, general manager (ID) NSCB stated that Losami village has been adopted as the Cooperative Bank Model Village. The Bank would provide various schemes to the members of the village in all areas and sectors like cooperative societies, trade and commerce, individuals and groups, schools and churches, public and entrepreneurs, farmers clubs etc. Moreover, the Bank will aid members in various loan and advances as well as subsidy-linked scheme with 33.3% back ended subsidy on diary, piggery, poultry, sheep and goatery and rabbit rearing for self-sufficiency in food production through NABARD.
The note also mentioned that MOU was signed for adoption of Losami Village as a model village between the Village Council and the Nagaland State Cooperative Bank Ltd, where the bank will assist all possible aids for the development of the Village in various agri and allied sectors.
