YWWA and JVC condemns

Kohima, December 20 (MExN): The Yhome Women Welfare Association (YWWA) has vehemently condemned the abominable act of a mother who hired gunmen belonging to NSCN (IM) to take away the life of the very son she gave birth to, Lt. Kevireizetuo Thome, son of Lt. Khie-o Yhome. A press release issued by its president Khovinuo Yhome and Secretary Dziesebeinuo Yhome stated that the victim was woken up in the middle of the night on December 16 at his house and was shot dead by the gunmen namely Ruokuodi, Kohima village, Viketoulhou of Jakhama village, Vilazo of Sathuzu village, without having respect to the sanctity of the house which is the only shelter he stay with his wife and children. “YWWA is at a loss with no words”, it stated adding that after the initial investigation report revealed that the mother Neiziengu-ü, an elderly women who with no signs of insanity, masterminded and instigated the entire act of horrific deed. The condemnation note said that no killings or murder is justifiable but this act of filicide is the most debase, completely implicating a failed mother by crossing the threshold of what distinguishes civility and animality. YWWA acknowledged to those who stood by them during the hour of tragedy and also appealed the law of the land to take severest possible punishment to the perpetrators and book any absconding individuals involved the murder. YWWA also called upon all the mothers to act upon the importance of nurturing a family in love, faith and to be responsible citizens. Meanwhile in a separate denouncing note, the Jakhama Village Council (JVC) strongly condemned the brutal killing of Keviriezetuo of L. Khel, Kohima Village on December 16, reportedly by three perpetrators including Veketoulhou Sophie of Jakhama village. The note issued by JVC Chairman, Medose Richa, extended condolence to the bereaved family, and has also appealed the authorities to award befitting punishment to the guilty so that no such unfortunate incidents and barbaric actions recur in Naga society.

Minister Azo to grace DSU golden jubilee today

Kohima, December 20 (MExN): Minister for health & family welfare Küzholüzo (Azo) Nienu will grace the golden jubilee celebration of Dzülhami Students’ Union on December 21 at Dzülha village. The minister will unfurl the golden jubilee monolith at 10:00 AM. The programme will be followed by cultural extravaganza, jubilee feast and talent expo nite. An introductory service startedon December 20  evening with ex-minister Zacilhü Vadeo as the speaker.

Thüvopisü Baptist Church to celebrate 75 anniversary

Kohima, December 20 (MExN): The Thüvopisü Baptist Church under Phek district will celebrate its 75th anniversary from December 28 to 29 under the theme “Jesus is the Lord.” The speakers of the anniversary are Rev. Vezopa Tetseo, executive secretary Chakhesang Baptist Church Council, Rev. Dr. Dusanü Venyo, Mission Coordinator Chakhesang Mission Society and Rev. Dr. Phuveyi Dozo, former director OC India. Minister for health & family welfare Küzholüzo (Azo) Nienu will grace the cultural exhibition programme on December 29 as the chief guest.

IGAR (N) distributed xmas gifts at KOHIMA orphanage

Dimapur, Decmber 20 (MExN): Officiating IGAR (N) Brig RPS Mann, vice president ARWWA IGAR (N) Mrs Rajvinder Kaur Mann, officers and ladies of headquarter visited Kohima Orphanage and gifted them Blankets, Note Books, writing material and Sweets on the occasion of Xmas. During the visit, they interacted with the children and staff of orphanage and conveyed good wishes for Xmas and New Year.  Orphanage children welcomed the guests with carol and Xmas cake cutting was organized. The caretaker of the orphanage thanked the officiating IG and all ranks of Assam Rifles for concern and help provided to them from time to time.
