ANCSU office closed from Dec 22

Dimapur, December 21 (MExN):
The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has informed that the office will remain closed from December 22, 2011 to January 11, 2012 on account of Christmas and New Year holiday. The Union in a press note has further extended its warmest Christmas and New Year greetings to all the Nagas and prays that this season of peace and love would foster the oneness among all Nagas.

ENSUG celebrates pre-Christmas

Dimapur, December 21 (MExN):
The Eastern Nagaland Students Union Guwahati (ENSUG) celebrated its pre-Christmas cum get together programme at Barapani Water Sports complex Meghalaya on the December 3. President ENSUG while exhorting asked his fellow students friends to be sincere and give ones best in own academic studies. He also called upon the students to know ones duties as student so that society is benefited through them. The programme was followed by lunch and entertainment.

Familiarization Exercise by NDRF Bn.

Kohima, December 21 (DIPR):
Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, Kovi Meyase has directed the Chairmen of Kohima Village Council/Chedema Village Council/Chedema Model Village Council and Chairman, Ward Panchayat to send a minimum of 10 (ten) representatives from their respective Village/Ward for the Familiarization Exercise on Disaster Management to be conducted by the NDRF Bn., Patgaon, Assam on December 29 at 10:00 am at Kohima Local Ground (Khouchiezie).

NCSU office closed from Dec 22

Dimapur, December 21 (MExN):
The Nagaland Contractors’ & Suppliers Union (NCSU) head office Kohima has informed all the NCSU bonafide members that the office will remain closed from December 22, 2010 to January 5, 2012 for Christmas holiday. Meanwhile, the Union has wished everyone a joyous Christmas and a blessed New Year 2012.

UKSU 49th general session on Dec 30

Dimapur, December 21 (MExN):
The Upper Khomi Students’ Union (UKSU) 49th general session will be held on December 30 at GPS U/Khomi on the theme ‘Towards broader prospect.’ UPSU president Veposu Nienu in a press release has informed that Niehusa Nakro, under secretary to the Government of Nagaland will grace the occasion as the chief guest while Vedusa Tenenu, SIS Phek will be the session speaker. Therefore, all the Unio members and well wishers are asked to attend the programme positively.
 
Naga Church Foundation Day on December 22
 
Dimapur, December 21 (MExN): 139 years ago on this day, December 22, 1872 the first Baptist church was established at Molungkimong (Dekhaimong) in Naga hills by an American Baptist Missionary E.W. Clark and his Associates Godhula, his wife Lucy and  Supongmeren  amidst headhunters. It was on this day, 15 converts were baptized at Molungkimong soil (Naga soil) and the first Lord’s Supper was administered in Naga soil. Thus the first Baptist church, the Molungkimong Baptist Church, in Naga soil was born. This was stated in a press note issued by S. Wati Pastor, Molungkimong Baptist Church.
“The Naga Christians should be thankful to God for sending the Gospel of Jesus Christ which has liberated us from the bondage of sin and made us his dear children. As we observe this historic day, let us pause for few minutes wherever we may be and say “Thank You, Jesus for the Salvation you have given us. Thank you Jesus for your church in our land” stated the note. The Molungkimong Baptist Church also wished everyone a Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year.
 
60 students from Nagaland to take part in art fest
 
Dimapur, December 21 (MExN): Sanskar Bharati, Nagaland Unit organized competition and workshop in Painting, Folk Dance, Poem, Recitation, music and literature since last four months in various schools in and around Nagaland where one thousand students (age group between 8 to 15 years)  participated in various activities. The best of 60 students from all over Nagaland were selected to take part in the final phase of the various competition scheduled to be from December 29 to 31, 2011 at Sarusajai Stadium, Guwahati, Assam. This was informed in a press note issued by Sanskar Bharati, Nagaland Unit.
This note mentioned that the competition was a part of the events under the Vision 2020 Project of Sanskar Bharati Poorvottar which is in the process of organizing “Bal Kala Sangam” a three day long North East level children art Festival in the various fields like Painting, Folk Dance, Poem, Recitation, music and literature. Around 1100 child artist from entire North East India will participate where veteran actress and M.P. Hema Malini, Renowned singer Anup Jalota, Veteran Actor Mukesh Khanna, Baba Satyanarayan Mourya, s. Pranam Singh and many other renowned artists from various part of India would grace the programme to encourage child artist.
The note also stated, “All are cordially invited to attend the programme”.
