5th Tening Lun Session on Jan 14, 15

Tening, January 11 (DIPR):
The 5th Tening Session is being organised to be held on January 14 and 15 at Tening village under the banner of ‘Arise and March forward’ with Additional Deputy Commissioner Medziphema Sehjang Doungel and Deputy Superintendent of Police 9th IRB Dibambo as chief guest and guest of honour respectively. The two days programme highlights are dance competition and beauty contest. The organising committee of the Tening Lun Aruang has appealed to all Tening citizen especially to the outside dwellers to make their time convenient and present in the meeting positively. Also all Tening citizens are informed to come with traditional dress in the programme.

9th Phema Khel Day on Jan 20

Kohima, January 11 (MExN):
The 9th Phema Khel Day will take place on January 20 at 10:00 AM at Puchonpiphie, Jakhama village. Elderly blessing would be pronounced by Suzumo Michael Richa. Exhortation would like delivered by Dr. N. Norbert Richa, principle, Government College Dimapur and Ashi Khieya, OSD, Finance department, Nagaland Kohima. There will be election of new office bearers for the Khel council and youth society, tati & folk tune performance by the young members. The programme would conclude with a community feast and registration of names. All bonafide Phema members young and old have been asked to compulsorily attend the said programme. This was stated in a release issued by Phema Khel Council chairman Vichopi Richa and secretary Biseho Richa.

APGO new team for 2011-14

Kohima, January 11 (MExN):
The Association of Phom Graduates & Officers (APGO) has nominated the new team of office bearers for the tenure 2011-14 during its 21st general session. The new officials of the association include; president- P. Manpong, vice President- C. Theppen Noklang, general secretary- B. Longai, joint secretary- B. Longting, finance secretary- B. Ponghok, assistant finance secretary- Z. Bushem and treasurer- Mongtho. Meanwhile, the new team has requested all the citizens, different tribal NGOs to extend full cooperation towards the upcoming project and other social activities.

DC Dimapur informs

Dimapur, January 11 (MExN):
The Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur has informed all the parade contingent taking parts in the ensuing Republic Day on January 26, 2011 to report in the DDSC stadium on January 15 at 7 am sharp for the parade rehearsal.

HIV/AIDS/TB awareness camp held

Dimapur, January 11 (MExN):
HIV/AIDS/TB awareness camp was held on January 11 in Burma camp area organised by Prodigals’ Home (Migrant project) in collaboration with RNTCP Dimapur. Dr. Khelito, DTO RNTCP, Dimapur addressed the gathering and gave them information about T.B, types of TB and its symptoms and the services provided by the RNTCP and Prodigals’ Home regarding TB. She also discussed about HIV/AIDS, STI and the routes of transmission of HIV/AIDS. The staff of Prodigals’ Home also shared about HIV/AIDS, STI and also did condom demonstration with proper aids.

KMC directs shops on R-Day

Kohima, January 11 (MExN):
In view of the forthcoming Republic Day celebration on January 26, all the shops/institutions /establishments agencies within the jurisdiction of Kohima municipality have been requested to clean/paint/white wash the front side of the building and shops facing the roadside on or before January 23 to facelift the capital city of Nagaland. This was stated in a release issued by Alun Hangsing, administrator, Kohima Municipal Council. Further, all the concerned have been requested to hoist National Flag in front of their shops and building by 6:00 AM on January 26. The size of the flag should not be smaller than 450X 300mm.

NMP+ seeks support for mission

Dimapur, January 11 (MExN):
Network of Mokokchung District People Living with HIV and AIDS (NMP+) wishes a happy new year to all and at the same time expresses gratitude for the constant support and encouragement to persevere against all odds in the fight against HIV and AIDS. “The success of various missions against HIV and AIDS in Mokokchung District in the past year would not have been possible without the support we have received throughout,” stated T. Temsu Jamir, General Secretary and added that NMP+ also solicits the same kind of precious support this year too, without which, People Living with HIV and AIDS or the fight against HIV and AIDS could never have the drive to carry on. “It is your unceasing support that inspires us with the will to raise our efforts in the fight against HIV and AIDS,” the note stated.
