Longleng reviews poll security

Longleng, February 25 (DIPR): The final security meeting of Longleng district ahead of polling was held at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner on February 25 under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner & DEO Longleng.  

The Deputy Commissioner & DEO Longleng John Tsulise Sangtam spoke on restriction for unauthorized persons to enter inside polling booth, Safe custody of EVM/VVPAT, Movement & Return plan of polling parties, Role of Presiding Officer and Sector Magistrate, Use of authorized mobile phone and Secrecy of Voting. The DC also urged to utilize the service of the DBs who are deployed to maintain law and order.  

Dr. Raghav Langer, IAS & General Observer, spoke on Joint Communication system with control room at DC & DEO office, Compulsory contact numbers of Sector Magistrate & Sector Commanders and other team leaders, Security arrangement both inside and outside the polling booth, Challenge Vote, Proxy Vote, Location of election booth & Voters facilitation booth, Sanitized of polling booth within 100 meters and role of micro observers.  

Police Observer, Jalindar. D. Supekar, IPS and Superintendent of Police Longleng, briefed on the overall security arrangement in the district. He also urged the Sector Magistrates, other officials engaged in election duty and the security force to work as a team and stay connected for timely intervention to normalize any crisis and situation.  

The meeting was attended by the DC & DEO, General Observers, Police Observers, SP, Returning Officer of 49 & 50 A/C, Sector Magistrates and Sector Commanders besides officers from Police and Security Force.
