Mokokchung, September 19 (MExN): The Lotha Ekhae Ekhüng Mokokchung (LEEM) held its Freshers’ day on September 14 at Lotha Baptist Church, Mokokchung, with Z John Ezung, Security Officer, NU Lumami as the guest speaker.


While encouraging the students to become more self-reliant, Ezung advised them to work hard in order to achieve their goals.


He remarked that there was always a place for merit, and so the students should focus less on the system “that may, at times, appear imperfect or unfair.” 


The programme was chaired by Mary Jungi. Earlier, Pilamo S Kikon, President LEEM delivered the welcome address, which was followed by felicitation of two meritorious students – Eric Yanthan, Top 3(a) in HSSLC (Science Stream), and Mhayani O Odyuo, Gold Medalist in M Sc (Mathematics).


Speech on behalf of freshers was delivered by Janpanthung C Ovung while a prayer for the freshers was offered by W Khonimo Odyuo, Pastor LBCM.


Khenporo and Renthan Khen were presented by CTC Unit and NU Unit respectively. Later, Merithung C Ngullie, General Secretary, LEEM pronounced the vote of thanks.
