LOU, DHEP presidential election questioned

Wokha, January 25 (MExN): The recent presidential election of Land Owners’ Union, Doyang Hydro Electric Project (LOU, DHEP) has been questioned in a rejoinder received here.

Stating that the matter is still pending in the court, the rejoinder from R Yanthan, Land Owner, LOU, DHEP asked how a president can be elected when there are no executive members to do so.

“The Court Order of 13/11/2017 is clear on the matter stating that the notification dated 20/04/2017 approving the Executive members of LOU, DHEP and the notification dated 7/6/2017, fixing the date for election of office bearers of LOU, DHEP are set aside and quashed,” it stated.

Regardless of whichever party forms the office of LOU/DHEP, the rejoinder said, “it is imperative that everyone should abide and respect the court of law. And therefore, any formation of LOU, DHEP office bearers prior to the Court’s final judgement/direction is declared as null and void as it has no official stand and hence, it is not legit.”

It further informed the 17 affected villages to be “vigilant of fabricated news and that until any further order is given by the court, formation of any LOU, DHEP office shall be deemed as unofficial, illegal and a direct challenge to the court of law.”
