Loyola higher secondary school annual sports met begins

Our Correspondent Kiphire | April 28   The annual sports meet of Loyola Higher Secondary School got underway today with Longdiba SDO (C) Hq as chief guest. The inaugural at the school ground was attended by the students, parents, teachers and well wishers.   Speaking at the inaugural, the chief guest urged the students to take active part in games and sports advocating that it helps one acquire a healthy mind and body which, he stated, is the key to success in life. He also asked the students to learn different games – both indoors and outdoors.   The chief guest also advised the students not to neglect the studies. The main focus as students should be to study and become responsible citizens in society, he counselled.  The chief guest later lit the torch and declared the sports week open.   Rev Father Ntonse John Lotha while welcoming the gathering said, the objective of the sports week is to build a healthy mind and body and to help students to earn better grade.   He also asked the students to accept winning with grace and defeat with honour and also asked the students to build better relationship and grow with friendship while taking part in sports and games. Cultural dance and special song were the other highlights of the day.
