LPG maddening experience

Through this column I would like to bring to the notice of the concern Government authority of Food & Civil supply, Consumer Right forum, District Authority and concern NGOs that the shortage of LPG supply in Nagaland is really becoming a maddening experience for the citizen of Nagaland especially rural area consumer, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY)schemes under the leadership of our honorable Prime Minister Shri. Modiji was a big relief for our women folk, however thought the slow take off of the scheme especially in Nagaland, most the villagers were discourage to use fire wood from this scheme and to which most the rural villagers are getting accustomed to. I come from a small rural village were using LPG has made my life easier. However Today with so many new outlet LPG Distributer mushrooming every year in rural areas, Government Schemes and workshop programs just to get 1 (one)LPG refill I have to wait for two/ three month which is so frustrating, so I would like to highlight what response I get from my INDANE distributer since majority of the market is capture by INDANE Pvt. Ltd. And the waiting has been to long:

1. There is no transporter/truck willing to come to our village.

2. There is no LPG in the plant, the 7th mile INDANE plant in Dimapur.

3. There is shortage of LPG Cylinder/bottle.

4. Truckers are on Strike.

5. Technical problem with the system.

6. Preference is given by the company to Urban Distributer/agency since they are catering to a larger population.

7. There is backlog of orders. The list goes on and on.

I am quite amaze by their response how can such a reputed company like INDANE Pvt. Ltd. Who claims to be Listed in fortune 500 have problem supplying LPG to the public in Nagaland. Please if this excuses are true. My only request to the concern Company authority is that the company should deliver as per your concept to counter the extensive deforestation that takes place in rural areas and vision to preservation of the environment and helped limit the use of conventional fuels like firewood.

There should be no discrimination between urban and rural consumer since we are also paying the same amount. Today LPG at our village is more of a decoration Item, then to be used for its actual purpose as fuel for cooking. I am very hopeful of the concern authorities that these grievances of the rural poor will be response with urgency.
