Peren, September 23 (MExN): Lieutenant General Gopal R, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding 3 Corps visited Sainik School Punglwa on September 22. The General Officer on his arrival was given a guard of honour by the senior cadets of the school followed by a special assembly.
According to a press release by Sainik School Punglwa, the Officer while addressing gathering stated that cadets were the blessed ones, potential officers under training and future of the great country. He advised them to develop a thirst for knowledge and undertake social responsibility in future. He further advised the cadets not to be distracted with the latest generation gadgets and inculcate the habit of reading books. He made them understand that luck comes naturally to anybody who works hard.
Post assembly, he was briefed about the school and visited the academic block, captain Kenguruse’s mess and school campus. The Officer interacted with staffs of the school by advising the teachers that they should carry out their duties as a ‘guru’ rather than an instructor and mould the cadets to desirable personalities.
The Officer was presented a memento by the Principal of the school.
