Major landslide hits Peraciezie

Kohima, July 15 (MExN): Incessant rain over the last few days caused a major landslide at Peraciezie near 15 BRTF camp Kohima carrying away a portion of the road leading to Gashie/Dzüzie of Kohima High School extension. It has also washed away a church, school and several houses rendering many homeless. Communication with Kohima town has also been completely cut off.

Kohima Village Youth Organization (KVYO) visited the area, interacted with the people affected by the incident and shared their concern and extended assistance.

While acknowledging the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima for his concern shown to the victims by visiting the affected area twice, the KVYO, President Medozhatuo Rutsa, and General Secretary, Kezhalelie Keretsü requested him to extend immediate help to the victims “as they are in miserable condition without any Government assistance.”

The KVYO also requested the 15 BRTF to take immediate necessary steps to check further escalation of the landslide lest it affects the town area in the future.
