Man arrested for looting ATM in Kohima

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 14 (MExN): Kohima Police has arrested one Dzuvileto Natso (29 years) for looting an ATM booth belonging to Axis Bank located at High School junction, opposite Vishal Mart, Kohima. 


A press release issued by PRO Kohima Police said the accused, who was working as a Custodian of Cash Management (CMS) looted the cash inside the ATM booth on the night of January 12. 


Immediately, on receipt of information, Kohima Police swung into action and investigation was undertaken in order to arrest the miscreant and recover the stolen cash. The investigation team was led by M. Yambemo Humtsoe, SDPO (North). 


The accused was arrested on January 13 and stolen cash amounting to Rs 21, 14, 000 (Twenty one lakh fourteen thousand only) was recovered from the basement of a residential complex at Razhü Point, where the accused was residing. 


The police had also earlier recovered an amount of Rs 10,16,500 (Ten lakh sixteen thousand five hundred only) from the place of occurrence which was left behind by the accused, making the total cash recovery to an amount of Rs 31,30,500 (thirty one lakhs thirty thousand five hundred only). 


In this connection, a case has been registered at North Police Station vide North PS Case No. 03/2020 U/S 380 IPC and further investigation is on, the press release stated.
