Manipur to implement 7th Pay Commission

The State Government of Manipur has agreed to implement the 7th Pay Commission in the State. Following this agreement the agitating government employees have called off the indefinite agitation from this afternoon.

 

This afternoon, negotiations were held involving the representatives of Manipur Secretarial Services Association (MSSA), Manipur Government Services Federation (MGSF)) and Manipur State Pensioner’s Union (MSPU) and the State Government of Manipur under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister. After due deliberation and negotiations over implementation of 7th Pay Commission benefits to the employees of the Government, it was agreed upon that the State Government will extend the 7th Pay Commission benefits to the employees and pensioners of the Government with the “Fitment Factors of 2.57 notionally w.e.f January 1, 2016 and actually w.e.f. April 1, 2019”.

 

The benefits of 7th Pay Commission with the allowances at pre-revised rate (at actual amount paid as on today) will be deposited to GPF accounts for the period April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020, according to the agreement.

 

It was also agreed upon that the 7th Pay benefits with revised allowances will be paid in cash w.e.f. April 1, 2020.

 

The meeting also agreed upon that the Government will address the problems faced by the work charged, Muster roll and casual employees sympathetically and settle at the earliest.

 

Following this development, the Manipur Secretariat Services Association (MSSA) and Manipur Government Services Federation (MGSF) and Manipur State Pensioners’ Union (MSPU) agreed to call off the agitation with immediate effect.
