Kiphire May 15 (MExN): The United Sangtam Likhüm Pümji (USLP) has urged upon the Nagaland State government to extend immediate relief and financial assistance to those families affected by May 13 storm.
Kiphire was one of the most severely affected areas in the storm that swept across the region on Monday with one dead and two injuries, and damaging over 180 houses and 3 schools, according to ground reports on Tuesday.
The damaged cause by storm was exponentially high, leaving affected families, woman and children vulnerable and exposed at the mercy of nature, stated a press release from USLP President Seopi Sangtam and General Secretary P Achumse Sangtam.
As per the verification carried out by USLP, the storm left one dead at Thsingar Village under Seyochung ADC HQ and injured two others while more than 150 houses were damaged in Kiphire Town and surrounding Villages, it said.
The USLP also expressed appreciation to the District Administration and District Disaster Management Authority, Kiphire (DDMA), for swiftly swinging into action to help the injured and extending immediate relief to the major affected families.
