Dimapur, October 11 (MExN): Morung United today booked a semifinal berth at the ongoing Morning Champions Cup (MCC) after upsetting a second-half assault from Morning Football Club (MFC) at Kohima Science College Ground, Jotsoma. The 2nd quarterfinal match ended 3-2 in favour of Morung United.   United struck early with Zabhi gifting his team a goal in the 7th minute. Exactly after 30 minutes, Lithung increased the tally to 2-0.   With an own-goal courtesy of Akhe in the 44th minute, it looked like United were heading for an emphatic win, leading 3-0 at the half time.   However, when the match resumed in the second half, MFC had changed its strategy and mounted a vigorous attack on United.   Two goals within a span of 7 minutes from Jekito and Hoineto in the 63th and 70th minute respectively saw the score line reduced to 3-2 for the last leg of the match.   United, however, jolted out of its stupor and managed to guard the score line for the last 30 minutes of the match.   Meanwhile, All Blacks booked the first semifinal berth on October 11 after beating Amur Falcon Football Club 3-2 in the 1st quarterfinal match.   In the 3rd quarterfinal match, CF Fanatics will play MRF FC on October 12.   MCC2017 3rd Quarter Final Date: 12-10-2017 CF Fanatics VS MRF FC Time: 6AM Venue: Kohima Science College Ground, Jotsoma
