MCCI bans sale of firecrackers in Mkg

Mokokchung, December 4 (MExN): The Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI) today informed all its members not to supply or sell firecrackers, while warning that any member going against the directive will be dealt with severely.

A press release from MCCI president, Tsukti Longkumer and general secretary, Limalenden Longkumer further reiterated MCCI’s earlier public announcement that selling of calendars and tickets of any kind to business owners in the market will not be entertained whatsoever.

MCCI meanwhile requested all motor vehicle owners and drivers while in Mokokchung Town to observe proper traffic etiquettes, obey traffic rules and park their vehicles at demarcated spaces only as the town has started experiencing unprecedented traffic snarls and jams with the onset of the festive season.

Business owners were also requested not to park their vehicles in front of their shops so that customers and shoppers from near and far are left with enough space to park their vehicles in the parking areas of the market.

Meanwhile, residents were requested to walk to the nearby markets to avoid traffic congestion on the roads.
