DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 4 (MExN): The Mon Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) today informed all business establishments in Mon HQ not to pay any illegal taxes/demand/donation.
“Further all the shopkeeper’s are also asked to inform the concerned authority if any person forces donations or demands taxes,” a press note from the MCCI stated.
It also ordered that no shop owners should sell liquor, opium etc; while warning that anyone found doing so would be held liable.
Further, the MCCI said that rice has to be weighed by the shop keeper before the customer and if anybody is found selling expired goods, BPL, AAY, MDM and any government supply rice in the market, action will be taken seriously as per the law. The same warning was given to those selling expired meat.
Meanwhile, the business establishments in Mon Town have been asked to keep their businesses clean, paint their shops and decorate for Christmas and New Year on or before December 15. The shops are also directed to keep their shutters open till 5:00pm for Christmas and New Year shopping.
The MCCI added that there will be a mass social work in Mon HQ on December 8, and all the shops are to down shutters from 6:00 am up to 12:00 noon without fail.
