MOKOKCHUNG, OCTOBER 8 (MExN): Two lopsided matches marked the day as Mongsenbai Youngsters humbled Hills XI by five goals to nil in the first match while Moanungsang Memorial SC trounced Unicorn FC by six goals to naught in the second game of Match Day 7 at the MDFA Trophy 2019.
In the first match, Imnatoshi of Mongsenbai Youngsters scored four goals for his side, three of them coming in the first half of the match. Onenkaba also joined him to find the net on one occasion. Mongsenbai registered their second straight win in the tournament in as many games and Imnatoshi moved his tally to six goals in the tournament so far, placing him comfortably ahead in the race for the tourney’s highest scorer.
In the day’s second match, Unicorn FC conceded six goals and gained the odd distinction of becoming the team to have conceded the most goals in the tournament so far. Supervene United is the other team who have also conceded 10 goals in two games, nine of them in the tournament’s opener against Intermingle Club.
Longsen of Moanungsang MSC opened the account just 3 minutes into the game. Temsutoshi doubled the lead in the 38th minute via a spot kick. Imsumanen then joined the party by scoring the second hat-trick of the day while Aripong added another one to the tally to blank Unicorn FC six goals to nil.
