Measles Campaign to cover 31031 children in Phek

Phek, February 11 (MExN): Under the Universal Immunization Programme (UIP), the Department of Health & Family Welfare launched the ‘Measles Catch up Campaign’ for children between 9 months to 10 years, in Phek district on February 7.
The three week campaign, which will end on February 26, is expected to cover a population of 31031 children in the district. During the first week of the campaign which is school based, over 7000 children were vaccinated in the first two days. The next two weeks will be health facility based and village based. Dr. Arindam Ray, Monitoring & Evaluation Focal person, WHO, is monitoring the activities in the district. Four State level monitors from the Department are also being deputed to oversee the campaign in all the four blocks of the district.
