Medical camp held at Orangkong village

Longleng, February 24 (MExN): 44 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) organised a medical camp at Orangkong village of Longleng district on February 24 as part of its effort to reach out to the medically deprived section of the society. Assistant Commandant Jubin Henry, Medical Officer and paramedical staff of 44 Assam Rifles treated 356 patients - 77 males, 167 females and 112 children - and distributed free medicines to the patients, informed an AR press release. With no hospital in the near vicinity, locals of far flung area who are deprived of medical treatment facilities also turned up for treatment, the release added. The villagers, AR said, conveyed their gratitude towards the unit for their efforts in looking after the medical needs of the local populace and for providing treatment to the poor and under privileged at their doorsteps.
