WSKH raises concern for Yeveto village Dimapur, July 21 (MExN): The Western Sumi Kukami Hoho (WSKH) has raised concern over threat posed to Yeveto village and its surrounding areas by flooding waters of Zubza river which is flowing at danger level and causing massive erosion. In a statement, WSKH president, Y Isawoto Zhimomi expressed discontentment that despite repeated appeals concerned department or the administration have not visited the affected area and taken stock of the situation. In this regard the WSKH has urged the concerned department and the administration to intervene into the grieving situation at the earliest.     Dist. level science seminar at Wokha Dimapur, July 21 (MExN): A district level seminar on “‘Pulses for Sustainable Food Security Prospect and Challenges” will be held in the month of August. The deputy district education officer (DDEO) Wokha Sentinenla Ao in a press statement informed that both government and private schools can participate at the seminar and all the schools in the district are directed to submit name of two participants i.e. from class 8 to 10 students to the DEO office on or before August 12. The date, time and venue of the seminar will be intimated latter, it added.     E.E PWD (NH) Tuensang informs Dimapur, July 21 (MExN): Due to road sinking (subsidence), the road between Lasikiur and Yei Bridge on NH-155 (202) - will remain closed for about one week, a PWD official said today. The Department may take one week time to restore it and the commuters are advised not to ply on that Road until further notification, the E.E PWD (NH) Div III Tuensang, Er K.Imnajungba Jamir informed in a press note. The department further requested the public to bear the inconvenience.     I-Day work distributed at Tening Tening, July 21 (DIPR): The monthly Tening Sub Divisional Planning and Development Board (SDPDB) meeting was held at the ADC’s conference hall, Tening on July 20. The meeting discussed the forthcoming Independence Day 2016 celebration and mass social work. On Independence Day, the sound system will be arranged by Information and Public Relations Department, two sets of tents will be provided by Assam Rifles, Tening, seat arrangements will be done by Government High School, and stage decoration will be done by the Forest Department. Further, the parade commander will be led by Officer Incharge (OC) of Police, the VIP and guests will be looked after by the PWD Department, and first aid will be taken care of by Health and Family Welfare Department.     AAY food grains for Kohima Centre Dimapur, July 21 (MExN): All the FPS and Village Councils of Kohima Centre has been informed that the AAY food grains will be released from June 25 and 26 between 10.30 am and 4:00 pm. Therefore the concerned FPS/village councils are directed to collect their respective quota within the stipulated period, informed Kapenlo Thong, Assistant Director, Food & Civil Supplies. The Nagaland AYUSH Doctors' Association (NADA) will convene its general meeting on July 28 at DUDA Guest House Kohima at 10 am. A press note issued by Dr. Shasinlo Magh, General Secretary, NADA has requested all the members to attend the meeting positively.  

  Meeting on registration of birth and death held Peren, July 21 (DIPR): The district level coordination meeting on registration of birth and death was held in Peren under the chairmanship of Zarenthung Ezung, Deputy Commissioner, Peren in his office chamber. Chubathung, District Statistical Officer (DSO) gave a briefing on the guidelines to be followed while registering birth or death by the registrar in the rural and urban areas. The head teacher in the village level is the registrar, while ASHAs are to report birth of a baby for registering. The DSO stated that birth certificates can be obtained free of cost if it is reported within 21 days of the child’s birth. He further highlighted that the Vision document of India is to ensure that all its citizens are registered with proper record by 2020. The Chairman suggested for an awareness campaign in the village, which the board accepted it as a positive measure for a clean registration of births and deaths.
