Minister H&TE visits Govt Polytechnic Kohima

Kohima, March 15 (MExN): Nagaland Minister for Higher and Technical Education, Temjen Imna Along paid a visit to Government Polytechnic Kohima (GPK) on March 15 and interacted with the faculty and staff of the institute.  

He instructed the departments to initiate activities such as exhibition cum sale, to focus on imparting practical skills to the students and to be more active on social media with the general objective of benefitting the students. He also instructed the Principal to constitute an ‘Employee of the Month’ award to incentivize hard work.  

He stressed on the need to obtain NBA accreditation and assured his full support in this regard. He further urged the employees to take extra ordinary steps and get emotionally involved in their work to transform Government Polytechnic Kohima into a model institute.  

Along also thanked the ministerial staff for their contribution to the Institute and spoke about introducing biometric attendance and a suggestion box.

While speaking on cleanliness, he asked the institute to undertake Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan initiative on a regular basis and to make the institute tobacco free.  

Along further urged the employees to overcome “isms,” support each other, and work together and finally assured the employees that hard work will be rewarded.  

Earlier Er. Keyiekhru Rhutso, Principal of Government Polytechnic Kohima gave the welcome address and expressed confidence that under the leadership of the Minister Temjen Imna Along, GPK as well as the Department of Higher and Technical Education will reach greater heights.
