Minister Kaito inaugurates Mungleu RCC Bridge

Peren, December 14 (MExN): The much-awaited Mungleu RCC Bridge, connecting Peren District New Headquarter with the rest of the district was inaugurated by Minister, Roads & Bridges G. Kaito Aye on December 13 in the presence of the Minister, Planning & Coordination, V & AH, Parliamentary Affairs, T.R. Zeliang and a host of Government officers and public leaders.
The chief guest, in his address stated that road developments in Peren District is almost complete, while acknowledging the urgent need to address the pathetic condition of the road connecting the District via Shukhovi.  Kaito said so many things are happening since the DAN government took over the reign and need congratulation from the people. “Peren district is completing in almost all infrastructures especially in road sector, therefore, the people of Peren district need to acknowledge and congratulate DAN government,” Kaito said.  
He also said that the state government is guided by the Planning Commission and there are certain procedure in running the government and admitted that every government have certain lapses and cannot implement everything at one go, Minister called upon the people, especially the intellectuals to understand and acknowledge the performance of the NPF government instead of criticizing and being a stumbling block to development.
The Minister also acknowledged the District Administration, Chief Engineer (R&B) and host of Engineers involved in the successful construction of the bridge and to the contractor for completing the construction work within the stipulated time frame. He further said that the bridge shall be under the responsibility of the people of Peren and hoped that the bridge would serve the people to the maximum. The Minister opined the need for the people to take necessary measures locally in maintaining and keeping the bridge in good shape. He also emphasized the need to keep the surroundings of the bridge eco-friendly and hygienic.
Earlier, Minister for Planning & Coordination, TR Zeliang while recounting the courageous and determined act of the Chief Minister in crossing the swollen Mungleu River to inaugurate the New District Headquarter said that it was then that the Chief Minister decided to build a bridge over Mungleu river and has become a reality today. He thanked the Commissioner, the Chief Engineer, other Engineers and the Contractor, who worked in cohesion to complete the construction within the stipulated time.  Further, while acknowledging the good workmanship of the concerned contractor, T.R. Zeliang urge all the contractors to strive to be the best of the bests and not the best among the worst.
On matters relating to shifting of Peren District Headquarter to its new site, the Minister appreciated the willingness of the Officers to shift to the new site while he urged upon all concerned not to defeat the ‘Vision’ as that would be a lost for the public and also assured that genuine minimum needs and requirements would be taken care of. He also encouraged all concerned parties to first seek clarifications from concerned authority or officers on any issues or misunderstandings before going to the Press.
The Deputy Commissioner, Peren, Khrienuo, C. Metha who also spoke on the occasion commented on the good quality of the new bridge and hope that other contractors may emulate the good workmanship of Mohan Singh & Sons. The Deputy Commissioner also took time to encourage the district officers to be prepared in shouldering responsibilities and to take necessary burden even as the Headquarter shifts to its new site very shortly as such is a challenging experience of every pioneer.
Other highlights of the programme included welcome address by Akhang, President (ZLR Baudi), dedicatory prayer by Mongzeung, Pastor (JTBC), presentation of a brief report on the Bridge Project by Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B) Peren, Picto Shohe and a special number by Kingdom Stewards. Temsutemjen, PWD (R&B) SE Circle-I proposed the vote of thanks.
