LSU reminds Naga Political Groups of their commitment to 'exempt' CIHSR from taxation

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 17 (MExN): According to a belated report reaching here, some miscreants taking the name of a Naga Political Group (NPG) allegedly extorted money from a staff of the Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR), Diphupar, Dimapur on September 7.

The miscreants reportedly entered the quarter of the CIHSR staff, a non Naga, which is located inside the hospice compound itself and took away Rs 10,000 as tax for an NPG. The miscreants also demanded the contact numbers of the account officers working in the hospital, it is learnt.

Expressing serious concern over the incident, the Local Support Committee (LSC) of CIHSR on Tuesday issued a statement appealing one and all to refrain from demand and taxation from the functionary or workers of CIHSR.

The Committee recalled that during the initial stage, the CIHSR suffered cash demand and percent deduction from various NPGs.

With good hope, the Committee said it took initiatives and negotiated with all groups wherein an understanding was reached to exempt CIHSR from demand and taxation so that it continue its development undisturbed and unhindered.

Now in the wake of a recent demand for cash from some staff and collecting contact numbers of the workers of management, the Committee has remind all of the recent agreement and commitment made by various NPGs

It has therefore appealed all to refrain from demand and taxation from the functionary or workers of the CIHSR and instead strengthen the institution to promote the health welfare of people.
